Born of Polish parent, he died in Paris in 1909.
He studied under Jouffroy and exhibited at the Salon
from 1857, gaining mentions in 1880, 1884 and 1886.
He specialized in bronze busts of celebrities, mainly
Polish, but also did genre and allegorical statuettes
such as Persuasion, Brute Force stifling Genius.
His wife Mathilde, who also died in 1888, was also
a genre sculptor and an Associate of the Artistes
Français.
